A 2.5 mile (4km) there and back walk from the village of Terrington in North Yorkshire. This simple route allows you to experience the tranquillity and far-reaching views of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, without venturing too far from civilisation. This walk is part of the Howardian Hills Easy Countryside Trails collection, published through a collaboration between iFootpath and the Howardian Hills AONB Partnership, with the aim of providing countryside access for all in the Howardian Hills.
Situated to the east of York and to the south of the North York Moors, these gently rolling chalk hills are one of Yorkshire’s best kept secrets! A walk in the Wolds offers you and your dog an easy stroll beside a river, or an energetic romp across open hillsides and through deep dales. The Wolds is home to countless pretty villages such as; Thixendale, Millington and Wetwang as well as the deserted medieval settlement of Wharram Percy. Look out for the Wolds Way National Trail, Minster Way and the Centenary Way on your travels through the Wolds!
